Preakness Stakes 2012: Kent Desormeaux Loses Preakness Mount Tiger Walk After Failed Breathalyzer Test

Jockey Kent Desormeaux will not be riding Tiger Walk in the 2012 Preakness on Saturday after failing a breathalyzer test at Belmont Park on May 18. Desormeaux was taken off his three mounts at the New York track and then lost his mount for the Preakness soon after (via Blood Horse).

New York-based jockey Ramon Dominguez will replace Desormeaux on Tiger Walk on Saturday.

Dominguez said about getting to ride Tiger Walk

"I'm excited to ride the horse, not necessarily the way it happened. I'm happy that they chose me to ride this horse. I know very little (about Tiger Walk). I rode against him a couple of times in New York, and I will have to go look at a couple of replays to take a look at his running style."

Tiger Walk, trained by Ignacio Correas, is a 30-1 longshot for Saturday's race.
