2012 Preakness Entries: Tiger Walk Stalking First Victory

Tiger Walk, a three-year-old Tale of the Cat colt, will be looking for its first win of the year when the 2012 Preakness Stakes takes place on Saturday, May 19.

In three starts this year, all at New York's Aqueduct Racetrack, Tiger Walk's best finish was third place during the Grade 1 Wood Memorial on April 21. The colt also finished third in the Grade 3 Withers and fourth in the Grade 3 Gotham.

Tiger Walk did earn back-to-back victories last year, both of them coming in mile-long races at Laurel Park. The second victory came in mid-December during the horse's first start on dirt.

Owned by Kevin Plank of Sagamore Farm and ridden by jockey Kent Desormeaux, Tiger Walk has career earnings of $90,000. The horse is named after the pre-game ritual for Auburn football games, during which Auburn players walk to the stadium through throngs of cheering fans.
