The odds are stacked against the Stony Brook men's lacrosse program Sunday (3 p.m. ET on ESPNU), but that will not stop the American East Conference champions from trying to knock off one of the top programs, No. 7-ranked Johns Hopkins. The winner advances onto the second round to face either No. 7-seeded Lehigh or Maryland on Saturday, May 19.
This will be the first all-time meeting between the two programs, as the Seawolves (7-9) will be making their second NCAA Tournament appearance in three season, while the No. 2-seeded Blue Jays (11-3) are making a NCAA record 41st strait appearance. Overall, Stony Brook is 1-2 in first-round NCAA Tournament games with their only victory coming against the Denver Pioneers in 2010.
