2012 Players Championship Scores: Kevin Na Takes The Lead With Matt Kuchar And Rickie Fowler Close Behind

Kevin Na kept an even keel throughout round three of the 2012 Players Championship, then capitalized on Matt Kuchar's late mistakes to seize control of the lead. Na shot par on 13 of his first fifteen holes, while Kuchar was racking up seven birdies and two bogeys. That put Kuchar in first for most of the day, but things flipped around on the last three holes. Kuchar bogeyed on hole fourteen, then again hole 17, sending his ball into the water. Na kept plugging along, par on 14, par on 15, birdie on 16, par on 17. Kuchar shot par on 18, and Na was set up so that anything under par would give him sole possession of the lead. He got a birdie, and that left him 4-under on the day, 12-under thus far, and squarely in first place. Kuchar rests at second, 3-under on the day and 11-under overall.

In third place is Rickie Fowler, who shot at 66 to ascend 14 places on the leaderboard, moving to third at 9-under. With a 72 in round one, a 69 in round two, and Saturday's 66, Fowler looks like he's got momentum on his side going into the final round. The standings are so close, though, that it's really anyone's tournament. The tension will be high on Sunday, and the 2012 Players Championship will go to the man who doesn't crack.
