2012 Frozen Four, Union College Vs. Ferris State First Period Score: Dutchmen, Bulldogs Tied At Zero

The Union College Dutchmen and the Ferris State Bulldogs are tied, 0-0, after the first period of play in the 2012 Frozen Four from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.

The best scoring chance of the period came to nothing when Ferris State's Cory Kane hit the crossbar a little before the halfway mark of the first period. Otherwise it was a tough defensive battle in the first frame with neither team able to generate many good scoring chances. Neither team was assessed a penalty in the first period.

Troy Grosenick turned away seven shots from the Bulldogs and got help from the crossbar in keeping Kane's shot out. Taylor Nelson stopped all six of Union's first period shot attempts. Union's Wayne Simpson was the only player to generate more than one shot for either side. Simpson had two shots in the first period.
