It's almost that time of year again, when at one moment all is silent with anticipation and just a split second later the deafening sound of rushing hooves can be heard across the country. The 138th running of the Kentucky Derby will once again take place this Saturday at Churchill Downs, one of the most prestigious horse tracks in the world.

Unlike some years where there is one clear favorite in the group, we're given two horses that might only be separated by where the draw places them. In fact, both horses currently have 9/2 odds on them.

Bodemeister and Union Rags have the most publicity coming into Derby week and many experts feel the difference is tiny between the two.

The odds for some of the other horses are below:

Gemologist is 8/1

Dullahan is 9/1

Alpha and Creative Curse are both 11/1

The schedule for Saturday, May 5th is as follows:

9:30 a.m. ET: Kentucky Derby Undercard on HRTV and NBC Sports Network

4:00 p.m. ET: Kentucky Derby Red Carpet Special on NBC

5:00 p.m. ET: 138th Kentucky Derby on NBC
