With the 31st pick in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the New York Giants have selected offensive tackle, Matt McCants, from UAB.
Based on the National Football Post's prospects rankings, the Giants may have gotten themselves a sixth round steal. They had Mccants ranked as their seventh best OT prospect and 88th overall. The Giants selected him with the 201st pick.
Here's what NFP said about him in their scouting report:
McCants possesses a great looking frame that has the ability to get bigger and mature physically. Athletically, all the tools are there for this kid to play left tackle in the NFL, he just needs some time to make the jump in competition and mature physically.
