Both the New York Giants and New York Jets could be on the hunt for offensive tackles in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, particularly tackles who are comfortable on the right side. With that in mind let's continue our 2012 NFL Draft position-by-position preview series.
Matt Kilil (USC) and Riley Reiff (Iowa) are expected to be off the board long before the Jets and Giants get to select. If Bobby Massie (Ole Miss), Jonathan Martin (Stanford) or Mike Adams (Ohio State) is available the Giants will be tempted at 32. The Jets? They might use one of their plethora of second-day picks to supplement this position.

New York Jets
The Jets still have Wayne Hunter and his -31.1 2011 rating from Pro Football Focus penciled in at right tackle. That rating put Hunter 72nd out of 76 tackles graded last season. The Jets appear likely to opt for defense in the first round, but an attempt to upgrade the tackle spot could come after that. The Jets have had Massie in for a visit.
New York Giants
The Giants' offensive line is in a state of flux. They allowed right tackle Kareem McKenzie to leave via free agency, and even if they move veteran David Diehl to that spot he is only a short-term fix. The Giants have had Massie in for a visit and if he is on the board at 32 he will likely get consideration. Adams is also rumored to be in the first-round mix despite his off-the-field issues. Carmon is a developmental late-round possibility.
