2012 NFL Draft: Mike Adams Tested Positive For Marijuana At Combine

Mike Adams, a highly-regarded offensive tackle prospect from Ohio State, reportedly tested positive for marijuana at the NFL Scouting Combine in February.

The New York Giants should sit up and take notice of this. Adams, one of the premier offensive tackles in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft, has often been projected to go to the Giants with the final pick of the first round, 32nd overall.

Before you cross him completely off the Giants' radar, though, consider that NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora seems to think this might not cause Adams to fall all that much -- if at all -- in the draft.

Wrote La Canfora:

Interested teams have been in close contact with Adams, and have been impressed that he has already completed counseling. ... The positive result will make him a moderate risk, and could result in him sliding to the second round, but other players with positive results in years past still have ended up in the first round. ... he has been forthright and league sources said he is viewed as a "good kid" who obviously made a mistake.

Are the Giants really one of those interested teams? If so, what impact will this have? Only one more week until we find out for sure.
