Amar'e Stoudemire Injury Update: Big Man Returning To Practice Saturday

New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson said Amar'e Stoudemire will return to practice on Saturday and scrimmage with his teammates, but the star power forward will not return to the Knicks lineup when they meet the Miami Heat on Sunday.

Woodson noted that Stoudemire scrimmaged with several of the Knicks on Thursday during the team's day off, but the big man is not expected to return against the Heat or during New York's following game on Tuesday against the Boston Celtics.

"He looked good, but until he and the doctors say they are ready to go, it's still day-to-day,'' Woodson said. "I'll keep close eyes on him."

Stoudemire's return could very well come against the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday, according to the New York Post. That would be three weeks after Stoudemire's steroid injection on March 28. Stoudemire was initially given a two-to-four-week timetable from that day.
