David Wright hopes to return from a broken pinkie this weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies: John O'Boyle/THE STAR-LEDGER via US PRESSWIRE

The New York Mets will try to bounce back from back-to-back losses Friday when they hit the road to take on the Philadelphia Phillies. The three-game series finds two teams meeting as they head in different directions.

New York opened the season with a surprising four-game winning streak before they lost 3B David Wright to a broken pinkie and then two straight to the Washington Nationals. Meanwhile, Philadelphia started off the 2012 season by dropping three of four, but then downed the Miami Marlins twice, outscoring the fish 10-3.

Though he so far has avoided a trip to the DL, Wright will be out of the lineup for the Mets as the series opens. In addition to wondering when he'll be able to get back on the field, the injuries to Wright have some within the organization wondering if he is worth a long-term commitment like the one handed out to LHP Jonathan Niese last week.

In order to try and shake some runs out of his offense, manager Terry Collins will open the series with a rather peculiar lineup:

1. Tejada

2. Murphy

3. Turner

4. Davis

5. Bay

6. Duda

7. Hairston

8. Thole

9. Dickey

The mighty trio of Turner-Davis-Bay has combined for a whopping six hits so far this season. Things aren't likely to get better for anyone in the Mets lineup with the Phillies handing the ball to Cliff Lee (0-0, 1.50 ERA). New York will counter with R.A. Dickey (1-0, 3.00).
