Carmelo Anthony Injury Update: Groin Injury Could Sideline 'Melo

The last thing the already-hobbled New York Knicks need right now is for Carmelo Anthony to miss time with an injury. Anthony, though, might be joining the ever-growing list of Knicks sitting in street clothes.

Anthony scored 28 points during Monday’s critical victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, but did much of it in obvious discomfort after aggravating a groin injury. Anthony missed seven games earlier this season with the injured groin, and his status for Wednesday’s game against the Orlando Magic has yet to be determined.

“I don’t think it’s too bad; I just want to take it day by day," Anthony said. “Tomorrow, [I’ll] get re-evaluated and see what happens from there.”

Amare Stoudemire is already out indefinitely with a back injury, Jared Jeffries is out for two weeks due to issues with his surgically repaired knee, and Jeremy Lin missed Monday’s game with knee soreness.

The last thing the Knicks can afford right now is for Anthony join them on the sidelines.
