NCAA Hockey Tournament 2012, Cornell Vs. Michigan: Big Red, Wolverines Tied 1-1 After First Period

The Cornell Big Red and the Michigan Wolverines are tied at one goal a piece after the first period of their 2012 NCAA tournament first-round game. The winner of the game will go on to face Ferris State University, who defeated the University of Denver by a score of 2-1, in the second round.

Michigan struck first and took a 1-0 lead early in the game. After just over a minute passed in the game, Luke Glendening sent a puck into the net after receiving assists from A.J. Treais and Phil Di Giuseppe. At the 10:10 minute mark in the first period, Cornell struck back with their own goal. John McCarron evened up the score by sending a puck past the goalie. Sean Collins and Braden Birch were both credited with assists.
