The 2012 NIT Tournament continues on despite Seton Hall's unfortunate early departure. The quarterfinals are almost all set following Sunday's second-round action, with three more games to be played Monday. There was plenty of excitement to be had, starting with an absolute barn-burner between the Oregon Ducks and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
The Ducks put on a show in Eugene, hanging on for a 108-97 win. Five players scored in double digits for Oregon, including a 25-point performance by E.J. Singler and 22 points from Olu Ashaolu. Roy Devyn Marble led all scorers with 31 points, but the Hawkeyes ultimately came up just short.
The Nevada Wolfpack dominated the Bucknell Bison on Sunday, 75-67, but the Drexel Dragons had a little more trouble. Northern Iowa trailed by as many as 18 points, but clawed their way back to come within a shot of advancing to the quarterfinals. Johnny Moran's potential game-winning 3-pointer clanged off the back of the rim, however, sending Drexel to the next round.
