BYU Vs. Iona Score Halftime Score: Gaels Up 55-40 Over Cougars

The Iona Gaels, dogged by many for making the 2012 NCAA Tournament over other on-the-bubble teams, are taking it to the BYU Cougars in the first half of Tuesday's First Four game in Dayton. The Gaels lead 55-40 at halftime, with seven players on pace to score in double digits.

Iona shot 24-for-41 from the floor, and 5-for-10 from beyond the 3-point arc in a first-half offensive clinic. Mike Glover and Sean Armand lead the way 10 points apiece, though five other players scored at least five points in the half. Scott Machado already has nine assists to go along with his seven points on the night.

The Cougars have already committed 13 turnovers against a tenacious defense, and haven't quite shown the offensive punch to maintain pace with the Gaels. Brandon Davies has 12 points and five rebounds to lead BYU in both categories. The Cougars shot 45.9 percent from the floor.
