The Syracuse Orange remain No. 2 in the latest college basketball rankings after edging UConn in the final seconds on Saturday.

Syracuse has now won nine straight after its lone loss of the season, but can't make up any ground on Kentucky for the top spot in the polls. The Wildcats earned all 31 first-place votes in Monday's USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll after beating Vanderbilt on Saturday for their nation-leading 20th consecutive victory.

Kentucky and Syracuse are followed by Duke, Kansas and Michigan State in the top five of the USA Today/ESPN poll. North Carolina, Marquette, Missouri, Murray State and Baylor round out the top 10.

Syracuse nudged past UConn 71-69 on Saturday after Fab Melo put back an offensive rebound with 31 seconds remaining. UConn had one chance to pull ahead and another to tie in the waning moments, but Syracuse notched two blocks to preserve its ninth straight win.
