2012 NFL Combine Workout Results: Chandler Jones Posts Solid 40-Yard Dash Time

Chandler Jones, a defensive line prospect from the Syracuse Orange football program, just finished running the 40-yard dash at the 2012 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, and posted solid, unofficial times of 4.82 seconds and 4.85. For a defensive linemen, any time between 4.65-4.85 is considered very good.

The official times usually come in a bit slower, but, overall, this will help Jones' overall stock come the 2012 NFL Draft. Overall, West Virginia Mountaineers defensive line prospect Bruce Irvin topped everyone by running a blistering unofficial time of 4.43.

Jones, who was measured at 6-foot-5, 266 pounds on Saturday, also has participated in the bench press, where he did just 22 reps of 250-pounds. He bested five of the 44 defensive line prospects.

Now, Jones will need to prove his side-to-side speed and technical skills, as he will be put through the three-cone drill and defensive line workouts.
