The 2012 NHL Trade Deadline is Monday. While no moves appear imminent for the New Jersey Devils, a couple of the team's veteran stars have made it known that they would like the team to add a defenseman for the stretch run.
"We have the pieces here," Patrik Elias said. "Over 60 games, you realize if you need something or not.
"Maybe a little bit bigger in the back. But we've had Adam Larsson and Henrik Tallinder out of the lineup, and if those two guys are in the lineup, that changes things."
Goalkeeper Martin Brodeur concurred:
"Definitely, a defenseman would be a luxury, to add depth and size," Brodeur said. "On our forward lines, we're pretty well equipped."
