Junior midfielder JoJo Marasco tallied three goals during a 10-0 run that propelled No. 7 Syracuse Orange past the Albany Great Danes, 12-7, in a men's lacrosse game at the Carrier Dome. The Orange (1-0) earned their 16th straight season-opening victory, while the Great Danes (0-1) fell to 0-10 against Syracuse all-time.
Syracuse trailed 2-0 in the game's first eight minutes, as Albany's sophomore Ty Thompson and senior Joe Resetarits each netted goals. The Orange answered, however, with 10 straight tallies en route to a dominating victory.
In goal, Syracuse redshirt sophomore Matt Lerman got the start and made six saves, allowing just two goals in the first half, while sophomore Dominic Lamolinara made 10 saves and allowed five goals in the second.
Next Sunday, Syracuse lacrosse hosts Army at the Carrier Dome (2 p.m.), while Albany hosts the Drexel Dragons Saturday at 1 p.m.
