The New York Yankees officially open their 2012 Spring Training on Sunday, Feb. 19, when pitchers and catchers are required to report to the team's Spring Training complex in Tampa, Fla. The first workout will be Monday. Position players are expected to report Feb. 24, with the first full-squad workout on Feb. 25.

Among the new faces in camp for the Yankees this season are starting pitchers Michael Pineda (acquired via trade from the Seattle Mariners) and Hiroki Kuroda (signed as a free-agent after pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The most notable absence is that of Jorge Posada, who retired during the offseason. Phenom Jesus Montero is also gone, traded to the Mariners for Pineda.
