The New York Giants took advantage of two early fumbles to take a 14-7 lead over the New Orleans Saints after one quarter of play at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
New York fell behind 7-0 early when an Eli Manning interception was returned 73 yards for a touchdown by Elbert Mack which opened the scoring with 9:38 to play. The Giants responded immediately as David Wilson returned the kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown to tie the score at seven. A New Orleans fumble set up the go-ahead score for the Giants as Manning hit Martellus Bennett for a six-yard touchdown with 4:19 remaining in the quarter.
Giants running back Ahmad Bradshaw left the game with a leg injury but his status for the rest of the game is unknown at this time.
After the interception, Manning settled down and finished the quarter 5-for-9 for 42 passing yards with one touchdown and the pick six.
