The New York Knicks have been placed around the top-five in the power ranking polls featured at SB Nation, ESPN.com, FoxSports.com and NBA.com.
Currently sitting atop the Atlantic Division with a 12-4 record, New York has managed to win their last three games, which has given the team a one-game lead on the Brooklyn Nets. Despite defeating the Milwaukee Bucks, Washington Wizards and Phoenix Suns over that span, it appears some polls have dropped the Knicks due to their loss to the Nets.
At SB Nation, curator Seth Rosenthal did just that, placing the first place Knicks one spot behind the Nets in his poll. The Knicks remained at No. 6 overall while the Nets jumped to spots to No. 5. However, Rosenthal has been impressed with the Knicks' play this season:
They're handling themselves well enough without the surprisingly massive influence of Jason Kidd, though a hand injury to Raymond Felton may test their backcourt depth (and/or accelerate the takeover of ¡Pablocura!) even further.
At ESPN, Marc Stein dropped the team one spot to No. 7 overall, while Sam Amico moved the team up one position to No. 5 in FoxSports.com's poll. John Schuhmann of NBA.com kept the team at No. 6 overall. Amico's poll was the only ranking where the Nets were not placed above the Knicks.
