The Seton Hall Pirates return to the hardwood Tuesday for the first time in almost a week, as the NJIT Highlanders visit the Prudential Center for a non-conference men's basketball game (7 p.m. ET).
The Pirates (5-2) are coming off a disappointing 72-67 loss at the LSU Tigers on Thursday. Seton Hall nearly earned a impressive road victory, but a bevy of late-game turnovers led to the Pirates second loss to a major conference opponent this season.
Junior forward Fuquan Edwin is the Pirates' leading scoring (17.9 points per game), while junior center Gene Teague has done a solid job of replacing the loss of Herb Pope. Teague is averaging 13.4 ppg and 8.4 rebounds per game.
NJIT (4-3) nearly defeated the St. John's Red Storm Saturday. The Highlanders played the Johnnies close, but eventually fell, 57-49, at Carnesecca Arena.
Senior forward Chris Flores is pacing NJIT is scoring (17.4 ppg), while senior forward Ryan Woods is the only other Highlander player averaging in double figures (13.4 ppg).
Three seasons ago, NJIT lost 21 games.
