Mike D'Antoni will face off against his old team on Christmas Day as the Los Angeles Lakers host the New York Knicks at Staples Center.
Los Angeles has been disappointing this season but has managed four straight wins as they have gelled more as a team and gotten players back from injury. They also boast the top scorer in the league in Kobe Bryant, who is averaging 33.8 points per game. New York has the second-leading scorer in the NBA with Carmelo Anthony's 28.3 points per game. Melo has been the spark for the resurgent Knicks this year, with possibly his best NBA season so far.
New York last met the Lakers less than two weeks ago, taking a 116-107 win at Madison Square Garden. However, both Pau Gasol and Steve Nash were out for that game, so the Christmas rematch will have a decidedly different look to it.
The game will be at Staples Center at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ABC.
