Howard vs. Rutgers final score: Scarlet Knights have little trouble with Bison

Rutgers shoots 60 percent from the field and blows past Howard, 79-55.

The Howard Bison hung around for a half, but the Rutgers Scarlet Knights opened the second half on a 14-4 run to put the game out of reach en route to a 79-55 victory at the RAC.

The story of the game was Rutgers' hot shooting, as the Scarlet Knights hit 60 percent from the field (33-55) and 67 percent from three (8-12). Howard shot 46 percent from the field, but committed 18 turnovers, resulting in 28 points for Rutgers.

Eli Carter led the Scarlet Knights with 20 points, Myles Mack added 15 and Wally Judge had 12. Anton Dickerson paced Howard with 16 off the bench.

Rutgers improves to 8-2 with the win and host Rider on Dec. 28. The team then begins Big East play with a trip to No. 3 Syracuse on Jan. 2. Howard drops to 3-10 and looks forward to a Dec. 28 trip to Orlando to take on Central Florida.
