As the New York Knicks prepare for Monday's showdown with Jeremy Lin and the Rockets, they are unsure of star forward Carmelo Anthony's status. Anthony sprained his ankle on Thursday while playing against the Lakers, and is yet to return to the court.
According to a report from CBS Sports, Anthony will be a game-time decision this evening. Head coach Mike Woodson told reporters on Monday morning that Carmelo did not participate in the team's shoot around, and that he really was not sure if his star forward would play or not.
A little more than two months into the season, many pundits feel that Anthony has been the MVP of the league. He is averaging 28 points, two assists and a little more than six rebounds a night. The Knicks are 18-5 this year, and thanks to Anthony's contributions, they rank fourth in scoring offense.
Tipoff from Madison Square Garden is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Monday.
