Stony Brook vs. Montana State final score: Seawolves fall to Bobcats 16-10

The Stony Brook Seawolves lost to Montana State 16-10 on Saturday, and are out of the FCS playoffs.

The Stony Brook Seawolves are out of the FCS playoffs following a second round 16-10 defeat at the hands of the Montana State Bobcats.

The Seawolves struggled to mount drives on offense, only compiling 245 yards. Stony Brook also hurt themselves with turnovers, as the team committed four turnovers: three lost fumbles and one interception.

Kyle Essington went 10-19 on the day for Stony Brook, throwing for 122 yards and one touchdown. Miguel Maysonet led the team in rushing with 83 yards on 19 carries, while Marcus Coker carried the ball 12 times for 56 yards. Kendrick Norrel had a solid day receiving, grabbing five receptions for 86 yards and one touchdown.

DeNarius McGhee had an inconsistent day throwing the ball for Montana State, completing 12 of his 22 passes for 208 yards. McGhee threw for one touchdown, but also took four sacks and tossed an interception. Tanner Bleskin was the main beneficiary of those targets, catching four passes for 130 yards and one touchdown. The quarterback also ran for the most yards on the team, gaining 75 yards on 18 carries.
