Brooklyn Nets forward Gerald Wallace will not be available to play on Friday night against the Orlando Magic due to continuing issues with his sprained left ankle, according to Tim Bontemps of the New York Post.
Wallace missed practice on Thursday and has not been able to work since suffering the injury on Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors while attempting to block a Kyle Lowry layup attempt.
On Monday morning, head coach Avery Johnson stated that Wallace's status is day-to-day. On Thursday, Johnson confirmed that Wallace was unable to practice and stated that he may participate in a short workout on Friday morning. He also said that Wallace would not be returning to the lineup until he is able to show him that he is capable of playing.
According to Bontemps, Josh Childress could potentially return to the lineup on Friday night as he was able to practice on Thursday. Childress has yet to play this season due to a sprained ankle.
