Red Bulls-DC United postponement reaction

Players and writers alike react to the decision by MLS to postpone Wednesday night's game between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United.

It seems as though while everyone understands the decision by MLS to postpone yesterday's soccer game between the New York Red Bulls and D.C. United, not everyone was happy that it took the league so long to make the decision to cancel it for one more night.

Black and Red United writer Martin Shatzer is particularly upset, because its another time that the United have had to change things around in this series. It is understandable when you consider what United has given up in this leg because of Hurricane Sandy:

We're also left with a bad taste because United gets screwed again. Not just the fans who made the trip, but the team as well. United already gave up its home field advantage to help the league cope with bad weather. Now the team has to drive home and back.

Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty and United forward Chris Pontius both sent out tweets after the game thanking \ fans for braving the elements, but also that the players on both sides wanted to play the game.

The game is scheduled to occur on Thursday night at Red Bull Arena in New Jersey. Kickoff is scheduled to be at 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on the NBC Sports Network.
