What will the Brooklyn Nets do for an encore? Following an emotional 107-100 win over the Toronto Raptors in the first game in Brooklyn for any major pro sports team in 55 years, the Nets play Game 2 at the Barclays Center on Monday night against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

From the presence of Brooklyn Dodgers legend Ralph Branca to the unveiling of the Brooklyn Knight, the pomp and circumstance was in full force last Saturday. The party was capped off when the Nets weathered a late Raptors rally to secure the victory. Brook Lopez led the Nets with 27 points. Deron Williams scored 19 with nine assists. Joe Johnson had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in his debut for the Brooklynites.

"This was such a huge night," said Nets head coach Avery Johnson. "I was so thrilled to be a part of it. This night meant a whole lot to a lot of people."

The Timberwolves arrive at 1-1 after falling to the Raptors, 105-86, on Sunday. Only two Minnesota players scored in double figures -- Andrei Kirilenko had 17 points and Nikola Pekovic 15 -- but 24 turnovers and a poor fourth quarter during which the Wolves were outscored 26-13 while making 4 of 16 shots was their undoing.

Both teams could be without key players. T-Wolves guard J.J. Barea has concussion-like symptoms after he was accidentally kicked in the head on Sunday. Nets forward Gerald Wallace suffered an ankle sprain in the closing minutes of Saturday's win and is day-to-day.
