Knicks vs. 76ers preview: New York looking to move to 2-0

The Knicks will attempt to win their second straight home game to start the season as they take on the Philadelphia 76ers

The New York Knicks have little time to relish in their season-opening victory against the Miami heat, as the Philadelphia 76ers travel to Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

The 76ers also won their first game of the season, as they defeated the Denver Nuggets 84-75. Center Spencer Hawes had the best game in the 76ers season opener, scoring 16 points while collecting 11 rebounds. His played 31 important minutes off the bench, as fellow center is currently out with a knee injury. Point guard Jrue Holiday had an impressive showing for Philadelphia as well, scoring 14 points and dishing out 11 assists.

The Knicks will have an injured big man unable to play this game as well, as Amare Stoudemire is currently out 6-8 weeks after his knee surgery. New York will look to lean heavily on Carmelo Anthony again, as the forward dropped 30 points and hauled in 10 rebounds for a double-double against Miami.
