Fantasy football start/sit, Week 13: New York Jets

Who to start and who to sit during Week 13.

Debby Wong-US PRESSWIRE

For most, this week marks the end of the fantasy football regular season. Some teams are playing for a first-round bye, some are playing for a playoff birth, while others are just playing for pride.

No matter the scenario, here is this week's guide to who to start and who to sit among the New York Jets for Week 13.

Quarterback
Mark Sanchez has had a terrible season. The Jets rank 28th in the league in passing offense, and Arizona has 4th ranked pass defense, intercepting 15 balls this season. Sanchez should not even be on a fantasy roster, let alone started in Week 13.

Verdict - Seriously?

Running Backs
Bilal Powell and Shonn Greene have had some success of late running the football, and the Jets ranked 15th in the league in rushing. Arizona has the 30th ranked run defense, so Greene AND Powell are decent flex options for this week.

Verdict - Consider both Powell and Greene, but do not raise expectations

Receivers
The Jets leading receiver, Jeremy Kerley, has improved as the season has progressed. But the problem is that his quarterback is Mark Sanchez. And the fact is, the Cardinals have one of the league's best pass defenses, so all Jets receivers should be kept on the bench this week.

Verdict - Sit them all

Kicker
Nick Folk has had a strong season in terms of accuracy, but he just has not had the opportunities to score due to the struggles of the team's offense. Keep him reserved.

Verdict - Sit him

Defense/Special Teams
Gang Green did not have a great game on Thanksgiving versus New England, but the Cardinals are not quite the Patriots offensively. Last week, Ryan Lindley made his first career start, at home, and threw four interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Antonio Cromartie could have a big play or two in store for Arizona.

Verdict - Start this unit
