With the latest bowl projections out at SB Nation.com, where do Syracuse and Rutgers figure to land during college football's bowl season?
After a win over Temple on Friday, the Syracuse Orange (7-5, 5-2 Big East) are currently slotted to go to the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham, Alabama. Syracuse's opponent is projected to be the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks from the Sun Belt, which will fill in for the 8th or 9th team from the ACC as that conference does not have enough bowl eligible teams.
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights (9-2, 5-1 Big East), which suffered a shocking 27-6 loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday, are now projected to go to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rutgers is slotted to face the Duke Blue Devils (6-6, 3-5 ACC), the No. 5 team from the ACC.
Rutgers could still play their way into a BCS bowl if it can defeat the Louisville Cardinals (9-2, 4-2 Big East) on Thursday. Louisville is currently expected to win the Big East by beating Rutgers and play in that BCS bowl, projected to be the Sugar Bowl against the Florida Gators from the SEC.
