New York Giants: Will they be champs or chumps?

Will the New York Giants finish the season like champions of chumps?

That, really, is the question facing the Giants over the final six games of the season. The Giants have really been two different teams the past two seasons -- a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of the NFL, if you will.

They were a 7-7 team last season that looked ordinary. Then they wmorphed into a 6-0 team that looked like world-beaters and turned into Super Bowl champs.

This season they trounced the Sn Francisco 49ers, but have lost to the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles. They have lost two straight and look at this time like anything but champions.

"I’m anxious to see how we come out and play because I feel like we need to respond to the key games that we’ve lost and we also need to prove that we are still world champions and play like it at some point," said defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

Will Eli Manning look like a Super Bowl quarterback, or the guy who plays for your local high school junior varsity?

Can the offensive line stop looking like a sieve?

Can the defense turn back the clock to last season's playoffs, and turn off the waterfall of big plays it has been surrendering?

Can Tom Coughlin once again find the magic formula that has helped him pull two Super Bowl rabbits out of hats that looked hopelessly deformed?
