A trio of local men's college basketball programs play non-conference games Sunday afternoon.
Seton Hall Pirates vs. St. Peter's Peacocks - 1 p.m: The Pirates (4-1) look for their third straight victory, as the Peacocks (3-1) visit the Prudential Center.
Seton Hall is coming off a dominating 76-49 victory over Maine on Wednesday, while St. Peter's will be trying to rebound from a 62-52 loss at the Binghamton Bearcats. Earlier in the season, the Peacocks did earn a 56-52 victory at Rutgers.
St. Peter's is paced by sophomore guard Desi Washington's 15.0 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Teammates, senior guard Yvon Raymond (12.5 ppg) and senior Blaise Ffrech (12.3), are the only other players averaging in double figures.
The Pirates are led by junior forward Fuquan Edwin, who's averaging 18.6 ppg.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. UNC Greensboro Spartans - 2 p.m.: Rutgers (3-1) will be looking to extended its current winning streak to four, as it visits UNC Greensboro (1-3) for a non-conference contest at the Greensboro Coliseum.
This will be the Scarlet Knights' first-ever meeting with the Southern Conference foe. Rutgers is coming off a 81-79 victory over the Boston U. Terriers.
Stony Brook Seawolves vs. Connecticut Huskies - Noon on SNY: The Seawolves (4-1) will look to earn their first victory over a nationally-ranked opponent when they visit the No. 21 Huskies (4-1) at the Harry A. Gampel Pavilion.
On Friday, Stony Brook defeated Canisius, 82-75, behind a 21-point performance from junior guard Anthony Jackson.
