NBA Standings 2012: Knicks and Nets lead Atlantic Division

The New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets are your current leaders in the Atlantic Division.

Anthony Gruppuso-US PRESSWIRE

The New York Knicks remain atop the Atlantic Division and just hold a small lead over the Miami Heat. After getting off to a 6-0 start, things have slowed down just a bit, but New York continues to remain competitive in almost every game they've played.

The Knicks lost their first game of the season last Friday when they fell to the Memphis Grizzlies 105-95, but recovered with two decisive wins over the Indiana Pacers and the New Orleans Hornets. New York then dropped their final game before Thanksgiving to the Dallas Mavericks to fall to 8-2.

The Brooklyn Nets are actually right behind the Knicks at 6-4, in second place in the Atlantic. However, they actually started the season at 6-2. They beat the Sacramento Kings on Sunday to start their West Coast swing, but then dropped two straight to the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors to fall back to their current record.

Rounding out the Atlantic Division: The Philadelphia 76ers stand at 7-5, the Boston Celtics are currently 6-6, and the Toronto Raptors are 3-9.
