The 2012 Football Championship Subdivision playoff selection show will be televised on ESPNU at 1:30 p.m. ET. The North Dakota State Bison are expected to top the 20-team field.
The Montana State Bobcats won't be far behind North Dakota State. The Sam Houston State Bearkats, Old Dominion Monarchs and Eastern Washington Eagles round out the FCS' top five teams, and each of them will get in to the tournament. Despite their high rank, Old Dominion will take up an at-large spot, as the Monarchs don't have an automatic bid due to their impending move to the FBS.
FCS bracketology site NoBowls.com predicts that North Dakota State will be the top seed, and will face the winner of the game between Eastern Illinois and Illinois State. In addition, fellow New York schools Wagner and Colgate are picked to face each other in the opening round, with the winner moving on to take on projected No. 2 seed Montana State. Despite a 9-2 record, the site also predicts that the Albany Great Danes will be left out.
