Rutgers vs. Princeton final score: Scarlet Knights take down Tigers, 58-52

Eli Carter came off the bench for 22 points, as the Rugters Scarlet Knights beat the Princeton Tigers for just the 16th time in 60 games with a 58-52 victory on Friday night at Princeton, New Jersey.

The Tigers got off to a hot start, controlling Rutgers for the first seven minutes while building a 12-3 lead. The Scarlet Knights would quickly roar back, as Myles Mack scored eleven points in a four minute stretch to give Rutgers a 21-18 lead that they would never relinquish. Rutgers would stretch the lead to ten points, but was never able to put the game out of reach until the final buzzer sounded. The game was largely a defensive contest: Rutgers shot 39.5 percent for the game, Princeton a paltry 31.9 percent.

Will Barrett scored 13 to lead Princeton, while Ian Hummer chipped in 10 points and six assists. Carter's 22 led Rugters, while Mack added 16.

Rutgers returns to the court on Tuesday against Boston University.
