The Seton Hall Pirates (1-0) will host the Norfolk St. Spartans (1-0) Monday at the Prudential Center. The contest, which is schedule to tip-off at 7 p.m., is the second game of the 2012 Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, which already featured the Pirates defeating UMKC Kangaroos, 75-36, Friday at Walsh Gym.
Seton Hall's defense held the University of Kansas City-Missouri to just 31.3-percent shooting. Sophomore forward Brendan Mobley collected a double-double (10 points and 10 rebounds) while junior forward Fuquan Edwin led all scorers with 16 points.
Monday's contest between Norfolk will be the second all-time meeting between the two schools.
Both programs are coming off successful seasons, as the Spartans earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference crown and upset second-seeded Missouri Tigers in the NCAA Tournament.
However, Norfolk is expected to be in a rebuilding season after losing five of the team's top seven scorers.
Meanwhile, Seton Hall is coming off a 21-win season and trying to quickly reload with a talented corps of juniors and sophomores.
According to the Pirates game notes, tonight's projected starting lineup will feature: Edwin, Mobley, junior forward Brian Oliver, junior center Eugene Teague and point guard Tom Maayan.
Seton Hall's next game will be Saturday, Nov. 17, against the Washington Huskies (7:30 p.m.) at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT.
