When the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins met in September, the Jets won 23-20 in overtime. They lost cornerback Darrelle Revis to injury in that game, and he's now out for the season with an ACL tear.
The Dolphins also suffered an injury in the Week 3 contest, as Reggie Bush was knocked out of the game after a low hit by LaRon Landry. The hit has sparked a bit of a back and forth between the two teams this week, and there appears to be some bad blood.
The Jets will have to focus on stopping Bush and the running game, as the Dolphins will likely focus on running the ball Sunday afternoon. The Jets enter Week 8 ranked No. 30 in the NFL against the run, while the Dolphins are ranked No. 11 in yards on the ground.
The Dolphins have struggled to defend the pass, allowing 284.4 yards per game this year. That total has them ranked No. 28 in the NFL. That should be good news for Mark Sanchez, who threw for a season high 328 yards against the Patriots last weekend.
The Jets come in to Sunday's game at 3-4, with the Dolphins just ahead of them at 3-3. New York lost in overtime to the Patriots in Week 7, while the Dolphins had the week off.
