Sports on TV, Oct. 22: Knicks preseason, Game 7 highlight Monday night

The New York Knicks have a preseason matchup, while Game 7 in the MLB takes place with a World Series bid on the line and the Bears and Lions clash on Monday Night Football.

The New York Knicks take the court for their fifth of six exhibition games Monday night, while a do-or-die Game 7 takes place in the MLB and Monday Night Football heads to Chicago.

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks, 7 p.m., MSG: The Knicks head up to Syracuse to play a game in the Carrier Dome, where Carmelo Anthony played his college ball. The team's final roster picture should be getting settled with only two more games on the preseason. Amar'e Stoudemire will sit out, as he's sidelined for 2-3 weeks with a cyst in his knee.

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals vs. San Francisco Giants, 8 p.m. FOX: The Giants have battled back from a 3-1 deficit to force a decisive seventh game in the NLCS. Both teams have ridden some luck to make it this far: the Giants have already played - and won - five elimination games in this season's playoffs, including their last two outings, while the Cardinals needed to win a one-game playoff against Atlanta to make the NLDS before beating the Washington Nationals on the road in Game 5 of that series. Both teams have their ace on the mound, with Kyle Lohse and Matt Cain going head-to-head. The winner, of course, earns a spot in the World Series to face the Detroit Tigers.

NFL: Detroit Lions vs. Chicago Bears, 8:30 p.m., ESPN: The black-and-blue division takes center stage Monday night, as the 4-1 Chicago Bears look to keep a three-game winning streak alive against a disappointing Lions team.
