The New York Jets trail the New England Patriots, 23-13, after three quarters of play at Gillette Stadium on Sunday in an AFC East game.
The Jets used their first possession of the second half to cut into the Patriots' lead. Like their first possession of the game, the Jets used 11 plays on their scoring drive. However, unlike their first drive of the game that went for a touchdown, the Jets only came away with three points after going 65 yards and taking 5:27 off the clock.
The Patriots responded with a 15-play, 83-yard touchdown drive that took 6:54 minutes off the clock. New England quarterback Tom Brady found tight end Rob Gronkowski in the end zone for the second time on the day. The touchdown pushed the Patriots' lead back to the 10-point margin New England had at the half.
The Patriots had the ball and were driving as the third quarter came to a close.
