Jets vs. Patriots score update: New York trails, 16-10, at halftime

The Jets gave up 16 unanswered points in the first half to the Patriots after taking a 7-0 lead in the first quarter on a sustained drive. A Nick Folk 54-yard field goal at the end of the half cut the Patriots' lead to six at halftime.

The New York Jets trail the New England Patriots, 16-10, at halftime on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in an AFC East contest.

After scoring a touchdown on a sustained drive on their opening possession, the Jets surrendered 16 straight points to the Patriots and trail at the half as a result. Shonn Greene got his fifth touchdown of the season from 1-yard out to cap and 11-play, 76-yard drive which took 4:44 off the clock. On the ensuing kickoff, Patriots cornerback Devin McCourty went 104 yards for the touchdown to tie the game. The Patriots would add another touchdown on a pass to Rob Gronkowski following a sustained drive of their own in the first quarter. The only Patriots score of the second quarter was a safety taken by Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez. The snap of the ball got away from Sanchez and he kicked the ball out of the end zone.

The Jets final possession of the first half got to the New England 36-yard line. A Nick Folk 54-yard field goal cut the New England lead to six at the half.

After the first half, Sanchez is 12-for-20 passing for 138 yards and 1 interception. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is 9-for-17 passing for 112 yards and 1 touchdown. The Jets outgained the Patriots in the half, 189-168.
