The New York Yankees face the Boston Red Sox Tuesday looking to extend their win streak to three games and stretch their lead in the AL East.
The Yankees enter Tuesday with a one game lead over the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles, who lost Monday, face-off with the Tampa Bay Rays looking to keep pace in the division race.
David Phelps (4-4, 3.34) takes the mound for New York, returning to the starting rotation after two weeks in the bullpen. In his last start, Phelps allowed only one run in 6.2 innings in a no-decision.
Jon Lester (9-14, 4.94) looks to snap a three-start losing streak as he gets the start for Boston. He last faced the Yankees on Sept. 11, where he got a no-decision after allowing three runs in 5.1 innings of work.
With a win coupled with a Baltimore loss, the New York Yankees could clinch the AL East Tuesday.
