Erik Morales failed a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency drug test in advance of his fight against Danny Garcia. The news broke on Thursday, but the fight is expect to go on as scheduled.
Morales' 'A' sample tested positive for the weight-loss agent clenbuterol, but to confirm a positive test, his 'B' sample will have to be analyzed. This new test will not be completed until after the fight, so things will go on as planned, according to ESPN.com.
Danny Garcia's trainer and father Angel Garcia addressed the positive test in a heated press conference on Thursday. He called out Morales' trainer and father, Jose, yelling curses and "Cheaters don't win, Pop!"
Morales did not address questions about the positive test in his portion of the press conference. But he did respond to those who speculated that he should have retired. Morales, 36, is a heavy underdog against the 24-year-old Garcia. Morales insists that he still has one good fight left in him.
