Kobe Bryant tells A-Rod: 'You're one of the best to ever do it'

New York Yankees' fans -- and maybe baseball fans everywhere -- have long thought that Alex Rodriguez' biggest problem is located right between his ears. It seems that Los Angeles Lakers' superstar Kobe Bryant, a friend of A-Rod's -- agrees.

Bryant reportedly reached out to the struggling, and now benched, Rodriguez recently and offered some advice:

"I just say to him, ‘You're Alex Rodriguez. You're A-Rod. You're one of the best to ever do it,'" Bryant said. "I think sometimes he kind of forgets that and wants to try to do the right thing all the time. Which is the right team attitude to have. But other times you really have to put your head down and say, ‘Hell with it' and just do your thing."

Unfortunately, A-Rod can't "do his thing" from the bench, where he was Tuesday as the Yankees lost to Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers again, falling into a 3-0 hole in the best-of-seven ALCS.

Of course, since A-Rod's thing lately has been to look like a confused, helpless Little Leaguer at the plate the bench is where he belongs. And none of it really matters, anyway, at least not right now. The Yankees are already 'The Walking Dead.'
