The SB Nation NFL Power Rankings for Week 7 were released Tuesday, and both the New York Giants and Jets moved up. According to NFL Editor Joel Thorman the Giants are the fourth-best team while the Jets are ranked 18th. The Giants (4-2) moved up seven spots after defeating the San Francisco 49ers, 26-3, while the Jets (3-3) easily beat the Indianapolis Colts, 35-9, to move up four places.

Here's what Thorman had to say about the Giants, who earned their second straight win.

4. New York Giants (LW: 11, 4-2): They were 11th last week, which was too low. This ranking should fix that a little bit

Meanwhile, Thorman said this about the Jets, who ended a two-game losing streak.

18. New York Jets (LW: 22, 3-3): They're beating the teams that they should (Bills, Dolphins, Colts) and losing to the teams they should (Steelers, 49ers, Texans). Seems easy enough.

Compared to other Power Rankings, the Giants' rankings is about the same as ESPN.com, which had them ranked No. 3, and FOX Sports' Brian Billick, who had them No. 5. The Jets were ranked No. 23 and 18.

Overall, a new team claimed the top spot in the SB Nation Power Rankings. That honor goes to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons who was ranked ahead of the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans. The Chicago Bears polished off the top 5.
