James Young, the eighth-best men's basketball recruit in the Class of 2013 according to Rivals, will announce his commitment decision today at 5 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The 6'6, 200-pound wingman from Michigan's Rochester High School will be deciding between the Kentucky Wildcats, Michigan St. Spartans, Syracuse Orange and Kansas Jayhawks. The Wildcats are the favorite to land the prized recruit.

According to ESPN recruiting services, Young is, "an explosive left-handed scorer with a legit long-range jumper beyond the (3-point) arc."

It is doubtful the Orange will land the prized prospect as he's only made one on-campus visit and that was to the University of Kentucky in early Sept. However, if Syracuse is able to steal Young away from the Wildcats he will join a 2013 recruiting class that already features point guard Tyler Ennis, a five-star player from Newark, NJ.

The duo would join SU's incoming freshman class that features McDonald's All-American DaJuan Coleman and Jerami Grant, a four-star power forward.
