Fantasy football start/sit, Week 6: New York Jets edition

Which New York Jets should you start and who should you sit for Week 6 in fantasy football.

The Star-Ledger-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The fantasy football season is nearly half over and the NFL is in the middle of bye week time, with the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars taking the week off.

With bye weeks comes the need to go deeper into your bench, and that may require

Here is who to start and sit from the New York Jets for Week 6.

Quarterback
In what is probably going to be the case for the remainder of the season, until Mark Sanchez can get his completion percentage higher than 50 and eliminate the turnovers, and until one of the wide receivers filling in for Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill can establish themselves, there is ZERO reason to even own Sanchez in fantasy.

Sit him - though if you actually have him on your roster, just cut him already!

Running Backs
Shonn Greene and Bilal Powell have been major disappointments this season considering head coach Rex Ryan said before the season started that the Jets offense would be a "ground and pound" offense.

The Jets have struggled to establish any sort of running game, so if you have either Greene or Powell, neither would be a recommended fantasy option.

Sit them!

Wide Receivers
With no Holmes or Hill, the Jets are down to the Jeremy Kerley's and Chaz Schilens' of the world. Dustin Keller, who has missed the last few games with a hamstring injury, is expected to play, and if you need a receiver or tight end, he would be a decent option, the only option on the Jets worth considering.

Consider Keller but sit everyone else!

Defense/Special Teams
Against Houston, Gang Green played a good game and even intercepted a pass - but they did not record a sack or have any other stats to speak of.

This Sunday at home against rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, the Jets have a decent chance to rack up some stats and would be a decent fantasy option.

Start them, but consider alternatives first!

Good luck!
