2012 College Football Schedule: Upcoming Big East games

A key Big East showdown between Syracuse and Rutgers highlights local weekend college football action.

The Syracuse Orange and Rutgers Scarlet Knights will put their undefeated Big East records to the test in a key conference showdown Saturday as the Big East hits the heart of its conference schedule midway through October.

The Scarlet Knights (5-0, 2-0), undefeated overall, have climbed to the No. 20 ranking nationally, one of three ranked Big East teams — joining the similarly undefeated Cincinnati Bearcats and Louisville Cardinals. Syracuse (2-3, 1-0), on the other hand, has suffered losses at the hands of three non-conference foes, including the USC Trojans. The Orange are coming off of a thrilling 14-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Panthers. .

Attention will also be turned the way of the Army Black Knights, who are fresh off their first victory over the season over the Boston College Eagles and will take on the Kent State Golden Flashes.
